Combining penthiopyrad with azoxystrobin is an effective alternative to control seedling damping-off caused by Rhizoctonia solani on sugar beet

چکیده

The soil-borne fungus Rhizoctonia solani causes damping-off on sugar beet seedlings. Growers rely fungicides to protect in fields affected by R. solani. Quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) fungicides, such as azoxystrobin, have been applied in-furrow and foliar sprays manage solani, but repeated use of QoI pose risks fungicide resistance. Penthiopyrad is a novel with the succinate dehydrogenase (SDHI) mode action. objectives this study were compare efficacy penthiopyrad used sole seed treatment versus azoxystrobin an or post-planting application for controlling solani; determine if combined can improve control over treatment, spray application. Seedling survival rate area under disease progress curve (AUDPC) seedling loss measure each treatment. A at 14 g a. i. kg−1 seeds, treatments 7 seeds one days after planting resulted similar AUDPC achieved standard However, alone failed damping-off. Our research suggests that be provide early protection vulnerable seedlings while ensuing adult plants.

Essential Oil of Mustard to Control Rhizoctonia solani Causing Seedling Damping off and Seedling Blight in Nursery

The essential oil extracted from mustard (Brassica rapa) seeds was evaluated for its effect on suppression of Rhizoctonia solani growth in vitro, and in field soils, for reducing saprophytic substrate colonization and seedling damping off and blight using snap beans as indicator plant, the in vitro growth was completely inhibited at a concentration of 50 μl/l. The saprophytic substrate coloniza...

biological control of rhizoctonia solani damping off of sugar beet with native streptomyces isolates under greenhouse and field conditions

biological control of sugar beet damping-off of rhizoctonia solani ag-4 by two native streptomyces isolates (s2 and c) was evaluated in green house and field conditions. in dual culture, two streptomyces isolates inhibited mycelial growth of r. solani ag-4. besides, volatile components of s2 and c inhibited r. solani mycelial growth for 72 and 74 percentages, respectively. soil treatment either...

Nuclear magnetic resonance: a tool for imaging belowground damage caused by Heterodera schachtii and Rhizoctonia solani on sugar beet

Belowground symptoms of sugar beet caused by the beet cyst nematode (BCN) Heterodera schachtii include the development of compensatory secondary roots and beet deformity, which, thus far, could only be assessed by destructively removing the entire root systems from the soil. Similarly, the symptoms of Rhizoctonia crown and root rot (RCRR) caused by infections of the soil-borne basidiomycete Rhi...

defense responses of cotton to trichoderma spp. and its influence in control of seedling damping-off by rhizoctonia solani

damping-off of seedling is a major disease of cotton in iran. disease may become epidemic in soil with low temperature and high moisture if seed treatment isn’t done. recently, trichoderma spp. are considered as one of the biological control methods of seedling damping-off. one proposed mechanism for biocontrol in trichoderma spp. is stimulation of host defense responses and induction of resist...
